Home Design Contemporary Singapore Home Features Long Lines, Slatted Screens

Home Design The Jog House in Singapore was planned by engineering studio Formwerkz for a designer and his more distant family. The three-story building takes after a tight rectangular box, with an opposite lap pool reaching out toward a treehouse.

"We like the thought that, from the principle road, the massing reviews the old high contrast pilgrim cabins, regularly sited on the higher level and served by a long garage," the fashioners said. "Guests enter the living arrangement through the rectangular opening and rise an outside staircase to land at the veranda along the west-bound exterior."

The fundamental level contains the principle living space, lounge area and kitchen. It's incompletely implanted in the slope and opens specifically onto the veranda. Travertine stone, teak and neighborhood timber are utilized all through the insides for a rich feel.

"A layer of timber braces shields the room overhangs on the upper volume," the fashioners said. "The braces reach out to encompass the mono-pitched metal rooftop, making a ventilation framework. Inside, stunned twofold volume spaces interface every one of the three stories, permitting the house to be ventilated viably."
